In order to use Record you must run a script of code on top of your application, don't worry, this is by far the most complicated part. There are 2 main methods to install the snippet.
There is a difference in how Record will function based on the installation method of your preference. In this section, we will describe the benefits and installation process of the native installation process.
Running natively on your product enables you to capture the data from all of your users and not only the one that runs natively the extension. Also, it is the only method that provides you with advanced capabilities like sending user information details, and costume data. if you can install the Record script this is the way to go!
Don't worry we packed everything for you or for your developer. (Assuming you finished the product's initial onboarding) let’s get started:
you can access the installation code on the last screen of the onboarding. or directly from settings.
Click on I will do it later, Welcome to the Record-setting page. navigate to installation
To install Record snippet, just include the code in your HTML file, at the bottom of the HEAD section, with your unique key from your dashboard account.
Save and make sure you publish the changes into the domain and environment you choose. If you send the installation instruction to other developers wait for them to complete the code installation and ask them for the environment URL containing Record code for Ex. Https://tests.yourporductdomain.com, then go back to your Record account and do the following:
Click on Verify the installation
This popup will open, please enter the domain you installed the snippet on and click on verify installation for Ex:
It will open a new tab to verify if the code is installed on this domain. Then, go back to your Record account (That is already open and see the message)
Error (Code Not Found): If you got an Error massage please reach out to us by booking a time to chat and we will help you to correctly set up your account.
Success Click on continue
In order to control who has access to your code we provide you with domain management to approve or disapprove new domains and installations in your Record account. Navigate to Settings and then on the left side click on domains
Moreover for any additional domain:
Navigate to Settings/Domains
Look for any waiting domain waiting to be verified. Click on "Activate" or change its status from "Pending". Then it will be automatically transferred to a verified domain and you're good to go. At any time, you can change the verified domain to be active by changing its status.
